We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Cashier to join our team at Madre Maiz Taqueria. The ideal candidate will have a great attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service. Answer questions about the menu and make recommendations when needed.
• Transaction Handling: Accurately process customer orders, handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, and manage the cash register.
• Order Management: Ensure that orders are taken correctly and efficiently. Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including the cash register area. Support cleanliness in the food preparation areas as needed.
• Problem Solving: Address customer inquiries and concerns with a positive attitude, providing solutions to enhance their experience at our taqueria.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy times. Assist other staff members as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Inventory Management: Occasionally assist with inventory tracking and management, ensuring adequate stock levels for supplies related to the cashier station.

Qualifications:

• Previous cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with customers.
• Ability to handle cash and work with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
• A positive attitude and a passion for providing great service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
