Job summary

Festival Foods is seeking a part-time Guest Services Cash Office Clerk in Mauston, WI. The role focuses on cash office balancing, data entry, and supporting Guest Services with accuracy and integrity.

You will operate POS and back-office systems, handle cash and tender info, and collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth daily store operations while maintaining safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in cash handling, financial reconciliation, balancing registers or retail experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and data entry.
  • Ability to use point-of-sale systems, bookkeeping software and cash management tools, and process information/merchandise through register system.
  • Basic technical proficiency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, with willingness to learn and ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with associates, leaders, and guests.
  • Ability to remain calm and handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with ability to read, count, and write accurately.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Cash Office Technology by monitoring and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Maintain Inventory by ordering supplies and cash for daily operations.
  • Identify and Report Discrepancies to store management or through the CORE Security Platform.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service by assisting guests and associates.
  • Communication via phone and in-person while following service standards.
  • Collaborate with the Team by working with the Guest Services team and other store staff to enhance operations.
  • Safety Compliance by keeping workspace clean, organized and safe.
  • Honor Commitments with regular attendance and proper schedule notices.
  • Support Our Team by performing other duties as assigned.

Job Title Guest Services Cash Office Clerk
Reports To Guest Services Manager

The Cash Office Clerk supports daily operations of Guest Services by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, meeting departmental goals, and addressing business needs. This role plays a key part in maintaining store profitability through accurate cash office balancing, cash management, and collaboration with the Guest Services team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Cash Office Expertise Maintain a thorough understanding of back-office software solution, cash recycler operations, register processes, and cash handling policies.
  • Balance Cash Drawers and Transactions Ensure accuracy in balancing cash drawers, lottery transactions, and other financial areas daily with accuracy.
  • Process Financial Data Accurately enter tender information and financial data into the system.
  • Manage Cash Office Technology Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the Cash Recycler Machine and other cash office equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain Inventory Order necessary supplies and cash to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Identify and Report Discrepancies Recognize and report discrepancies and suspicious activities to store management or through the CORE Security Platform.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service Be helpful, provide helpful solutions and ensure a positive experience for all guests and associates.
  • Communication Answer inquiries via phone and in-person, while following proper phone etiquette and service standards.
  • Collaborate with the Team Work closely with the Guest Services team to support both departmental and guest needs, and collaborate with other store associates and leaders to enhance overall store operations.
  • Safety Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and secure workspace in compliance with safety standards.
  • Honor Commitments Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice for schedule adjustments when necessary.
  • Support the Team Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to assist in other areas of the Guest Services Department as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The associate must possess the ability to continuously move around the cash recycler, cash office, registers, walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly. Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination to operate equipment.
  • Physical ability to sit for 2-3 hours.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle cash trays, cash and coin delivery, boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
  • Standing for long periods (up to 80%) and some lifting may be required.
  • Ability to work early mornings with varied hours/days including weekends, and holidays, as needed.
