Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Collection Specialist to join our Centennial, CO office and support our Revenue Cycle Management team. The role emphasizes timely cash collection, denials resolution, and strong adherence to privacy and regulatory guidelines.

You will work with CMS-1500/837 formats, communicate with patients, and negotiate payment plans within policy. A background in medical collections is preferred, with opportunity to grow in a leading home infusion provider.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college a plus.
  • 1+ year medical collections experience preferred; familiarity with managed care.
  • Experience with CPR+ and billing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures daily cash collections by aging >60 days and handles denials within 7 days.
  • Adheres to state/federal regulations and company policies on billing and privacy.
  • Resolves balances, updates patient accounts, and follows up timely.
  • Resubmits CMS-1500 and 837 formats accurately and promptly.
  • Negotiates payment plans per policy; analyzes denials and patterns.
  • Interacts with third party collection agencies when needed.
