Collectors Universe is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Applications Clerk to join our Accounts Receivable and Collections team in Santa Ana, CA. This on-site role focuses on applying customer payments to orders in a fast-paced environment, while coordinating with operations and service teams.

You will handle bank deposits, process card payments, and reconcile postings. Candidates should have 2–5 years in cash application or AR, and will work with Salesforce, MS Excel, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of cash application, accounts receivable or related experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
• Accounting Certificate or Associate Degree preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply customer payments to accounts accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Prepare daily bank deposits by scanning and posting to customer orders.
• Process customer credit card payments per company policy.
• Reconcile payments to ensure proper application.
• Maintain files and scan documents to electronic files.
• Troubleshoot problem orders and accounting holds.
• Create, track, and close show order projects.
• Resolve customer short payments by contacting the customer via email and phone.
• Answer and respond to customer calls and emails promptly.
• Work with new and changing company processes.
• Occasional travel required.

We're looking for a Cash Applications Clerk to join our Accounts Receivable and Collections team to apply customer payments to customer orders in a customer-facing, high volume, fast-paced environment. Critical skills include familiarity with accounts receivable processes, troubleshooting skills, strong Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to interface effectively with operations and customer service departments.

You’ll report to the Accounts Receivable Manager and work onsite from our Santa Ana, CA office.

Onsite Requirement

This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.

What You’ll Do

• Apply customer payments to their accounts accurately and in a timely fashion
• Prepare daily bank deposits by using a scanner and then posting to the appropriate customer order
• Process customer credit card payments in accordance with company policy
• Reconcile payments to ensure proper application
• Maintain files, including scanning documents to electronic files
• Troubleshoot problem orders and accounting holds
• Create, maintain/track, and close show order projects
• Resolve customer short payments by contacting the customer via email and phone
• Answer and respond to customer incoming phone calls and emails in a timely manner
• Work with new and changing company processes
• Occasional travel required

Who You Are

• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
• Organized and solution-oriented, with excellent time management skills
• A proven team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Salesforce, MS Excel, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Gmail interface), and ERP systems
• Netsuite and Salesforce is a plus
• Positive attitude
• 2-5 years of cash application, accounts receivable or related experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment
• Accounting Certificate or Associate Degree preferred
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $21-$25. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
