Job summary

Roetzel & Andress LPA in Fairlawn, OH is hiring a full-time Cash Application Specialist to support the Finance Department. This in-office role requires accurate processing of payments and collaboration with billing to resolve unapplied funds.

Responsibilities include applying payments, reconciling receipts, communicating with clients and attorneys, and identifying processes improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency of cash application workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3E legal accounting software.
• 2+ years in law firm or professional service cash application.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Proficient in data entry and time management.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to client accounts and invoices in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts and investigate discrepancies in payment applications.
• Coordinate with the billing department to resolve unapplied or misapplied payments and ensure proper account adjustments.
• Communicate with clients, attorneys and team members regarding payment details, remittance information, and account status as needed.
• Processing of one-time credit cards mailed by clients and those emailed to accounts receivable
• Transmittal of checks to bank
• Process client account adjustments as needed
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cash application workflows.

Job description

Roetzel & Andress LPA, a multi-state law firm with an administrative center in Fairlawn, Ohio, has an immediate opening for a full-time Cash Application Specialistto support the Finance Department. This is an in office position to be worked in our Fairlawn office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to client accounts and invoices in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts and investigate discrepancies in payment applications.
