Job summary

RTX is seeking a Scrum Master for the Compression Systems Engineering group in Jupiter, FL. You will lead an Agile Scrum team, coordinate with CIPT and stakeholders, and ensure alignment with budget and schedules while driving improvements across parts development.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in a relevant engineering environment and are capable of obtaining/holding a DoD security clearance. Onsite role with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Eng with 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Security clearance: Secret; Active clearance required after day 1.

Responsibilities

• Manage an Agile Scrum team as Scrum Master; collaborate with team and authorities on part development and improvements.
• Communicate status and technical content to CIPT.
• Perform Control Account Manager duties to track progress and mitigate budget/schedule risks.

What You Will Do

• Manage an Agile Scrum team as Scrum Master to meet task and technical requirements; work closely with team members and authorities on part development and recommend product improvements and identify and address project problems, analyze data gathered, develop solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance, with the technical mentoring of an experienced part family council member in the CIPT.
• Communicate status and technical content to CIPT
• Perform Control Account Manager duties for task: Track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project budget and schedules to ensure smooth project operations.
• Integrate and manage part-level sourcing activities with procurement, industrial, and manufacturing team members and the internal/external supply chain. Also coordinate timely creation/release of model-based product definition.
• Lead risk assessments and risk mitigation planning as well as actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
• Travel up to 10%

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent OR
• Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Demonstrated strong team and strategic leadership skills.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels of management.
• Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience, previous gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience is highly desirable
• Experience with gas turbine engine rotating hardware
• Experience in a team leader role or similar task leadership position
• Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, MS Project,
• Experience in Agile Project Management, including Scrum and Kanban. Experience working with Jira software package.
• Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC) Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter).
• Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
