Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Case Therapist I for the Adult Substance Program. This full-time role (40 hours/week) requires an LSW or LPC and a Master’s in Behavioral Health, with at least one year of supervised clinical experience in behavioral health.

You will provide psychotherapy, case management, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health is required.
  • One year supervised clinical experience in a behavioral health setting is required.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is required at hire.
  • A valid Illinois driver's license, auto liability insurance, and annual driving abstract are required.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate requests for service.
  • Intervene, stabilize, and manage acute crisis situations and participate in ECASP on-call rotation.
  • Provide psychotherapy and case management services as indicated.
  • Assess clients’ needs, strengths, goals and resources.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individual treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment through various therapeutic modalities.
  • Document clinical information in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with service agencies and refer clients to appropriate programs.

Education

Master’s degree in Behavioral Health
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
One year supervised clinical experience in behavioral health
Valid State of Illinois driver’s license and auto liability insurance

Job Description

Case Therapist I

Department:Adult Substance Program

Full time, 40 hours per week

*Required:Licensed Social Works (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC)

Responsible for providing high-quality services that promote optimal social, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen and evaluate requests for service.
  • Intervene, stabilize, and manage acute crisis situations and serve as a part of the ECASP on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Provide psychotherapy and case management services as indicated within accepted standards.
  • Assess and evaluate client needs, strengths, goals and resources.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team in reviewing cases and developing individual plans.
  • Implement treatment through various therapeutic modalities.
  • Consult with other center staff regarding problem assessment and treatment planning.
  • Consult with other service agencies around case-specific and programmatic issues.
  • Refer and link clients to other human services programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to other agencies as needed.
  • Create clinical documentation in support of services provided on a timely basis.
  • Train other providers and non-providers in areas relating to service specialties. Functions cooperatively as a member of the treatment team.
  • Consult with and back-up hotline and other volunteer services.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health
  • One year supervised clinical experience working in a behavioral health setting
  • All NM, Ben Gordon Center (WR849) employees, at point of hire and annually, are required to have a valid State of Illinois driver’s license, current auto liability insurance, and an annual driving abstract
  • Licensed Social Works (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC)

Preferred:

  • For substance abuse therapist, CADC preferred and Substance Abuse experience.
