Job summary

TopDog Law in the United States is seeking a Senior Intake Specialist to handle exception cases where the intake data is insufficient for a decision. You will assess injuries, liability, and red flags, communicating with clients who are often in difficult moments, and guide managing attorneys on whether to sign, refer, or decline.

You will work closely with the state managing attorney to refine intake criteria and improve processes, while documenting findings in our systems and ensuring smooth

Qualifications

• 5+ years of personal injury law experience.
• Experience evaluating NY Labor Law and construction accident cases.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
• Fast-moving environment; follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Review exception cases and dig into injuries, liability, and red flags.
• Spot commercial vehicle involvement and high-value potential.
• Talk with prospective clients with empathy, and ask the right follow-up questions.
• Give the managing attorney a clear recommendation (sign, refer, or decline) with your reasoning.
• Document everything in Filevine and intake systems, and hand off signed cases.
• Review intake calls and recommend improvements to agent training and the intake questionnaire.
• Proactively follow up with escalated clients to resolve concerns, improve client satisfaction, and prevent client-initiated case withdrawals.

The Opportunity

TopDog Law is a nationally scaling, fully integrated personal injury firm. We need a Senior Intake Specialist who can take on our exception cases: the ones where the intake form doesn't give us enough to know whether we should sign. Many of these are potentially high-value commercial and catastrophic injury matters, and the people calling us are often in the hardest moment of their lives. You'll make them feel supported, dig into the details with an expert eye, and help our managing attorneys decide which cases we sign and which we refer to a partner firm. You'll work closely with the managing attorney in your state to sharpen our intake criteria over time.

What You Will Own

What You Bring

• 5 or more years of personal injury law experience
• Experience evaluating and vetting construction accident and New York Labor Law cases, including assessing case viability, liability, and eligibility for representation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with real comfort talking to seriously injured clients and grieving families
• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Consistent follow-through in a fast-moving environment

Preferred (Nice To Have)

• Candidate lives in New York, but not required
• Paralegal experience
• Bilingual in Spanish

What We Offer

• Base Salary: $60,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience
• Our job postings reflect the compensation range for the specific market and location of each role. Ranges vary by geography based on local market rates and cost of labor.
