Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Vocational Case Manager to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore strengths, develop employment skills, and pursue meaningful vocational goals. You will coordinate with participants, families, employers, residential providers, and funding agencies to translate goals into practical steps and supports.

Responsibilities include ISPs, ongoing case management, progress monitoring, documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• At least one year of supervisory experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Vocational Case Manager to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore their strengths, develop employment skills, and work toward meaningful vocational goals.

In this role, you'll provide individualized case management and coaching while coordinating with participants, families, employers, residential providers, funding agencies, and other community partners. You'll help translate person-centered goals into practical steps, support participants as they develop workplace skills, and provide guidance as they navigate vocational and employment opportunities.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Pay: $23.70 per hour

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), Rehabilitation Plans, and other person-centered plans incorporating measurable vocational objectives.
• Provide ongoing case management, coaching, supervision, and support to assigned participants.
• Monitor progress toward established vocational goals and make adjustments to plans when appropriate.
• Maintain complete and accurate case notes, participant records, reports, and other required documentation in accordance with agency and funding-source standards.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, annual, and other required reports.

Build Employment Skills

• Provide individualized instruction in job readiness, career exploration, workplace skills, and life skills.
• Assist participants in exploring vocational programs, community employment, and self-employment opportunities that correspond with their interests, abilities, and goals.
• Provide direct supervision and support within vocational programs, community worksites, and employment settings.
• Implement appropriate workplace accommodations, job modifications, and individualized supports to promote success in employment.
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and problem-solving assistance when needed.
• Model professional behavior, advocate for participants, and encourage independence and meaningful participation in the community.

Coordinate the Path From Intake to Services

• Conduct and coordinate participant intake, assessments, evaluations, and eligibility determinations.
• Review participant progress and ongoing eligibility for vocational services.
• Coordinate program transfers and transitions when appropriate.
• Participate in production floor time studies and quality assurance activities.
• Assist with program expansion efforts, including identifying community employment opportunities and supporting grant-related initiatives when assigned.

Connect Participants With Their Support Network

• Develop productive working relationships with participants, families, employers, funding sources, residential providers, and community partners.
• Collaborate with the various individuals and organizations involved in supporting participants' vocational goals.
• Participate in audits, inspections, licensing reviews, and quality improvement activities.
• Prepare Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs), General Event Reports (GERs), and other required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
• Follow applicable agency policies and requirements established by CARF, DDD, DVRS, DCF, DOE, DOL, and other funding or oversight agencies.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree required in Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Skills & Professional Requirements

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and case management skills.
• Ability to effectively supervise participants while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Comfort working in both office and community-based environments.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.

Required Screening & Training

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings, including:

• Criminal History screening
• Central Registry screening
• CARI screening
• Applicable drug testing requirements

Employees must also complete required Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) pre-service trainings and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications as required.
