Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago's North and Northwest suburbs is seeking a full-time clerical professional to support discharge planning and Medicare communications. The role runs Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and requires strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years clerical experience in a health care setting.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle difficult calls and maintain professional conduct.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule: Full time Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
  • Coordinates Medicare-related communication by delivering and documenting Important Message (IM) and Code 44 letters, obtaining required signatures, and supporting appeals processes.
  • Monitors voicemails and ensures timely follow-up.
  • Supports discharge planning by coordinating with vendors, identifying appropriate post-care services, verifying benefits, and communicating updates to care teams.
  • Maintains department operations by updating discharge-related systems, compiling reports and statistics, managing supplies, and providing clerical support such as meeting minutes and general administrative tasks.
