Job summary

Century-Furniture is seeking an assembly associate to build the outside frame of cabinets by joining end panels, tops and bottoms. You will adjust drawers, fit doors, and ensure precise alignment for smooth operation.

Responsibilities include hanging doors, installing striker plates, lid supports, and shims while following all safety policies. Strong reading skills and prior casegoods assembly experience are preferred; on-site work in Hickory, NC.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and interpret work instructions and safety policies.
• Experience assembling casegoods is advantageous.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assembles all end panels, tops and bottoms to create the outside frame of the cabinet case.
• Adjusts drawers and fits to the case opening; plans or cuts to size as needed.
• Hangs doors and aligns them; installs striker plates and magnetic catches.
• Installs lid supports and ensures doors open/close smoothly; places shims as required.
• Ensures drawer slides operate smoothly; follows safety policies.

Summary Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for receiving case parts from machining & assembling to make outside frame.Essential DutiesAssembles all end panels, tops and bottoms to make the outside frame of the caseAdjusts drawers to case as necessary by planning or cutting down bottom and/or sides of drawer to fit opening in casePlaces plastic drawer tilt in temporary location on back of drawerAdjusts or replaces drawer stop blocks as necessaryInsures that drawer slides smoothly and easily in caseHangs doors on cases and adjusts doors together which includes planning or cutting down to fit doors to caseAssembles striker plate for magnetic catch to door, places shims behind hinges as necessaryAssembles lid supports to doors where required insuring that door opens and closes easily and properlyMust follow all safety policies and proceduresAll other duties as assignedPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredMust have good reading skillsPrevious casegoods assembly experience a plusPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
