Job summary

Sorren, Inc. is seeking a senior leader to run a growing Client Accounting Services practice, overseeing managers, developing future leaders, and ensuring service quality and profitability. You will design outsourced accounting solutions, manage multi-entity engagements, and mentor teams to deliver accurate reporting.

Compensation range for this role is $135,000 - $185,000. Actual pay varies by skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in general accounting.
  • 3+ years of recent public accounting/CAS experience.
  • CPA license or eligible (preferred).
  • QBO ProAdvisor or heavy QBO expereince

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the CAS practice, developing managers and future leaders.
  • Provide strategic oversight across complex client engagements, including multi-entity consolidations.
  • Design, implement, and optimize outsourced accounting functions and month-end close processes.
  • Oversee delivery of accurate financial statements, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
  • Guide clients through financial transformation initiatives and automation projects.
  • Serve as trusted financial advisor to client leadership on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintain accountability for client service excellence and engagement profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff across engagements.
  • Act as escalation point for technical accounting issues under GAAP.
  • Develop, monitor, and refine engagement budgets and pricing strategies.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships and identify cross-service opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements and cross-functional collaboration within the firm.

Position Summary:

Your Impact (Essential Duties):



  • You will be responsible for helping run a growing Client Accounting Services practice: leading managers, developing future leaders, managing client escalations, maintaining service quality and profitability, improving processes and technology, and ensuring teams have the structure and resources they need to succeed

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership across a portfolio of complex client engagements, including multi-entity consolidations, high-volume transactional environments, and rapidly scaling businesses

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of outsourced accounting functions, including month-end close processes, internal controls, and financial reporting systems tailored to client needs

  • Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial statements, dashboards, and KPI reporting to support clients' operational and strategic decision-making

  • Guide clients through financial transformation initiatives, including system conversions, process automation, and scaling finance functions for growth or exit readiness

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to client leadership teams, offering proactive insights on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and business performance analysis

  • Maintain accountability for client service excellence, ensuring deliverables are consistently aligned with engagement scope, deadlines, and budget parameters

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting managers, seniors, and associates, supporting their professional growth and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture

  • Act as the primary escalation point for technical accounting issues, providing thoughtful and well-documented solutions in accordance with GAAP and other relevant frameworks

  • Develop, monitor, and refine engagement budgets and pricing strategies to ensure profitability while delivering high client value

  • Cultivate long-term client relationships by deeply understanding their businesses, anticipating needs, and supporting financial growth strategies

  • Drive business development by identifying cross-service opportunities, contributing to proposals, and participating in client onboarding and scoping

  • Champion process improvement both within the client service model and internal firm operations, leveraging technology and best practices for efficiency and accuracy

  • Represent the outsourced accounting team in cross-functional firm initiatives, collaborating with tax, advisory, and assurance peers to deliver integrated solutions

  • Promote ongoing learning and technical development through team training, coaching, and personal knowledge sharing

  • Model exceptional time and engagement management skills, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes across multiple, simultaneous priorities

  • Perform other duties and display flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership

  • Meet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity


Your Background:


  • 8+ years of experience in general accounting

  • 3+ years of recent public accounting/CAS expereince

  • CPA license or eligible (preferred)

  • QBO ProAdvisor or heavy QBO expereince

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting frameworks, and internal control structures across a range of industries and entity types

  • Proven ability to lead financial transformation efforts, including implementation of scalable accounting processes, systems, and automation tools

  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software platforms and related reporting or workflow tools

  • Demonstrated success managing client portfolios with complex needs, multi-entity structures, and varied reporting cycles

  • Exceptional leadership and people development skills, with experience guiding high-performing teams across multiple engagements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams at all levels

  • High attention to detail combined with strategic thinking and the ability to connect financial data to broader business goals

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee concurrent engagements, allocate resources effectively, and meet critical deadlines

  • Proactive problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying process improvement opportunities and leading successful implementations

  • Business advisory orientation, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and support client decision-making

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, both for self and team

Compensation range for this role is $135,000 - $185,000.


Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Discretionary incentive compensation is based on firm, group, and individual performance.
