Job summary

Geo Owl LLC in Springfield, Virginia is seeking a Maritime Cartographer to support our customer in Springfield, VA. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of GEOINT/IMINT experience and must hold TS/SCI clearance.

You will work with geospatial data, create shapefiles and geodatabases, and use ArcGIS Pro and related software to produce cartographic products for NGA missions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of GEOINT/IMINT experience, or 1–3 years with a geospatial degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Expertise in geography, cartography and GIS with ArcGIS.
• Experience creating shapefiles and geodatabases.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS and SocetSet, plus standard office software.
• Familiarity with digital cartography and NGA data formats.

• Support maritime cartography tasks for NGA missions.
• Create shapefiles and geodatabases and manage geospatial data.

Job description

Geo Owl is currently looking for a Maritime Cartographer to support our customer in Springfield, Virginia. To be qualified you need at least 5 years of relevant experience and meet the requirements listed below.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-3 years with a related Geospatial degree or 5 years with a High School of experience in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) and Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), reflecting a comprehensive understanding and application of geospatial analytical methodologies and practices.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Expertise and experience in geography, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which includes skill in ArcGIS applications.
• Expertise and experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features.
• Knowledge of geospatial analysis software suites (GIS commercial software packages such as ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS & SocetSet, including common office software to include spreadsheets, word processing) used by NGA to accomplish its mission.
• Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formats.

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required.
