Job summary

Sunshine Disposal & Recycling in Lewiston, ID is hiring a Container/Cart Delivery Driver. You will operate a delivery truck on routes, load/unload containers, and perform yard maintenance. A Class B CDL and a valid DOT medical card are required; two years of driving experience is preferred.

Shift: Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM start. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k) match, and life/ disability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work on time and receives daily work assignments and tablet with routes.
• Performs pre-trip inspection of the truck for safety.
• Loads containers/carts onto trailer for transport.
• Drives the truck on routes following all laws and regulations.
• Communicates with dispatch and Route Supervisor to ensure deliveries.
• Delivers containers/carts and documents any issues.
• Performs post-trip DVIR and notifies maintenance if needed.
• Washes/cleans carts and maintains yard cleanliness.
• Cross-trains for operation of refuse collection trucks.
• Attends required meetings and performs other duties as assigned.

Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has a job opening for a Container/Cart delivery Driver in our Lewiston, ID business unit. Job duties include operation of delivery truck in residential and commercial locations, load and unload carts/containers, and general maintenance of cart/container storage yard. Current Wage is $24.00 per hour. Job shift is Monday-Friday start time is 6:30 AM. Basic computer literacy is required, and OJT is provided for company specific work systems. This job requires a Class B Commercial Driver License and a valid US DOT Medical card. Applicants must meet insurability requirements and comply with all US DOT drug screening rules. Two(2) years driving experience of similar vehicles preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.

1. Arrives to work on time and receives paperwork and tablet with daily work assignments. Performs Pre-trip inspection of the truck to make sure everything is operating correctly, maintenance is not necessary, and all equipment/systems are safe to operate. Completes DVIR form in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations.

2. Loads containers and/or carts onto trailer for safe transport.

3. Drives truck on various routes/roads within the city and county in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws/regulations.

4. Communicates effectively with dispatch and Route Supervisor throughout the day to ensure that there are no issues with deliveries.

5. Delivers container/carts to customer locations. Unloads carts/containers trailer and places where instructed. Documents any obstacles or issues with location placement using tablet or paper records.

6. Performs vehicle post trip of the after work is completed and driver has returned to terminal for the day, completes post-trip DVIR and lets the Route Supervisor and/or Mechanic know of any maintenance items.

7. Washes/cleans carts and containers as needed prior to delivery. Keeps container/cart yard clean and organized.

8. This job will include cross- training for operation of refuse collection trucks.

9. Attends all necessary meetings at Sunshine Disposal as required.

10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous use of computers/tablets required.

Certificates/Licenses:

Hold a valid Class B CDL. No Air Brake restriction.

Valid USDOT Medical Certificate (med card) required

Must meet insurance carrier requirements for driving record

Subject to USDOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing rules

Physical Abilities

• Regularly (5+ hours per day) sit, stand, seeing, hearing, walk, reach, grasp, fine finger manipulation, wrist flexion, operate foot and hand controls.
• Frequently (3-4 hours per day) climb, bend, pull/push(up to 60 pounds).
• Occasionally (1-2 hours per day) Lift (up to 60 pounds), crawl, stoop/crouch, twist
• Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors
