Job summary

Apple Inc. in San Francisco Bay Area, CA, is seeking a software developer to join the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems team.

You will design, implement, and deploy carrier configurations and build tools to streamline the configuration process across carrier networks worldwide. You will collaborate with software engineering, QA, project management, and carrier account management, applying strong C++, Objective-C, Swift, and Python skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming in C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
• Proficient in Python; Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with MySQL or MongoDB.

Description

As a key member of the team, you will work cross-functionally with software engineering, QA, project management, and carrier account management teams to develop and deliver the software that allows Apple’s cellular devices to work flawlessly on carrier networks worldwide. This role requires excellent problem-solving and communication skills, solid programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion to make the best products possible. Must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming and design skills in C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
• Proficient in one or more scripting languages, including Python.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting (bash/sh/csh).
• Experience developing with SQL and NoSQL database systems such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Strong experience with debugging.
• Experience applying AI to real world problem solving.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to take ownership, effectively prioritize, and deliver tasks on schedule.
• Development experience with macOS X or iOS system frameworks.
• Experience developing web applications and services.
• Experience writing automation scripts and tools.
• System software (mobile or desktop) release experience.
• Familiarity with wireless networks and mobile device configuration.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $194,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
