Job summary

Robins & Morton is seeking a Carpenter Helper in Florida to assist carpenters with construction projects, help lay out work, and maintain a clean and safe jobsite.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and about 2 years of construction experience. Candidates should be familiar with basic hand tools, PPE, and safety rules, and be prepared to work under supervision on on-site tasks such as framing, form installation, rebar, and scaffolding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 2 Year experience as a Labor/Helper in the commercial/construction field.
• Ability to comprehend safety rules and operating manuals and perform tasks accordingly.
• Ability to provide and maintain general hand tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Assist Carpenters in construction of framework and maintenance of structures.
• Learn to lay out work and perform lay-out independently.
• Follow jobsite safety regulations and report safety issues.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean for a safe jobsite.
• Transport tools and materials to the work area.
• Set up and move work areas as needed.
• Ensure PPE is on hand for tasks.
• Load and finish small quantities of concrete as needed.
• Assist in demolition activities to perform safely.
• Unload and furnish materials and tools to carpenters.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders per plans and specs.
