Job Summary

The Carpenter1 is responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, cement, and wallboard using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.

Essential Functions

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Install structures or fixtures such as frames, floorings, trim or hardware using carpenters hand tools.
• Build tunnel bracing or partitions in underground passageways to control the circulation of air to worksites.
• Build concrete forms for tunnels, bridges, power plants, or sewer construction.
• Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks.
• Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Carpenter.

• Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help.
