Job summary

Holder Construction Group is seeking a Carpenter to join our Gainesville, VA operations team on a full-time basis. The role emphasizes safety, handrails, temporary enclosures, and general carpentry duties including sawing, nailing and measuring.

Experience with concrete is a plus and strong reading of basic drawings is required. The candidate should have at least five years of construction experience, OSHA 10 and fall protection training, and be able to lift heavy materials while standing for

Qualifications

• Five years of construction experience required.
• Able to read basic drawings.
• Must have OSHA 10 and fall protection training; MOL/MEWP training preferred.
• Must be agile, able to stand/walk long periods and lift 50–100 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining safety handrails, hole protection, steps and ladders, temporary weather enclosures.
• Perform sawing, stripping, nailing, measuring, drilling, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Experience with concrete is a plus.

About The Role

We are looking for a Carpenter to join our Operations team on our project in Gainesville, VA. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection.
• Also does sawing, stripping, nailing, measuring, drilling, and other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Experience working with Concrete is a HUGE plus.

Qualifications

Required:

• Possess 5 years of construction experience.
• Must be able to read basic drawings.
• Have training on construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor).
• This position will provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time.

Preferred

• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Must be able to work outside.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
