Job summary

S & NJ CONSTRUCTION LTD. is seeking a Carpenter Helper for permanent, full-time work at various sites with a base in Surrey, BC. The position offers a 35-hour work week with an hourly wage of $25.10.

Start date is as soon as possible and no education or prior experience is required. English language is required and duties include assisting carpenters and handling materials on site. Responsibilities cover loading materials, erecting forms and scaffolding, framing support, and maintaining site

Responsibilities

• Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites.
• Assist Carpenters and other tradesmen in construction activities.
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
• Help heavy equipment operators in construction activities.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
• Clean and pile salvaged materials.
• Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed.
• Follow emergency and safety procedures.
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
