Job summary

Archer Western Construction, LLC is seeking a Carpenter Helper for the Burnsville, NC project. The role involves measuring, assembling wooden structures and assisting seasoned carpenters on commercial, industrial, and heavy civil jobsites.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of verifiable carpentry experience, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a pre-employment drug screen, while adhering to safety policies on site.

OVERVIEW (Archer Western Construction, LLC) is currently seeking a Carpenter Helper for the (TSENC, NC197 PDB), in (Burnsville, NC). The Carpenter Helper constructs, erects, installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects; provides assistance to other Carpenters on the jobsite. RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
  • Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, highway structures, walls, and additional structures
  • May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
  • Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery
RESPONSIBILIDADES (Spanish)
  • Mide la distancia y marca las pautas en la superficie de trabajo para prepararse para el trabajo de colocación
  • Prepara, construye e instala estructuras de madera en línea con unidades prefabricadas para formar puentes, estructuras de drenaje, estructuras de carreteras, muros y estructuras adicionales

QUALIFICATIONS

1-3 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred

  • Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
  • Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
