Job summary

PCL Construction, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking Carpenters to support a civil district project. The role requires reading plans, laying out elevations, and finishing concrete, with pay between $25 and $40 per hour depending on experience.

You will follow safety policies, secure tools, and work on the Elizabeth River bridge project. Minimum two years in heavy civil construction preferred; OSHA certifications a plus. On-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience, preferably in heavy civil construction.
• OSHA safety certifications are a plus.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and at height.
• Good attendance with references.

Responsibilities

• Read plans and specifications.
• Print layouts.
• Follow safety policies and ensure proper scaffolding and equipment.
• Secure and put away tools, equipment, and materials at end of day.
• Layout, set elevations and grade; install PVC water stop; set anchor bolts; erect and strip gang forms.
• Finish and place concrete.
• Work on structural/mechanical repairs to moveable bridge over the Elizabeth River.
