Job summary

Sundt Construction in the United States is seeking a Carpentry Foreman to provide leadership, planning, and supervision for all carpentry work in accordance with plans, codes, and standards. You will coordinate craft resources and ensure safe, efficient workflow and on-time, on-budget project execution.

You will develop weekly work plans, monitor schedule progress, uphold safety and quality, and mentor crew members while fostering a continuous improvement culture on site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years' experience in the relevant construction market.
  • Set standards of excellence in leadership, safety and productivity.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support all company policies and 'The Sundt Way' regarding the work and people you supervise.
  • Assure all crew members evaluations/performance agreements are conducted.
  • Assure the accuracy of all time sheets, quantity, and productivity reports.
  • Champion and promote a Continuous Improvement culture with all members of the crew.
  • Conduct and/or participate in all safety, quality, production, and planning meetings.
  • Develop one-week and daily work plans, provide feedback on the 6-week schedule, and know the critical path.
  • Establish weekly production goals for the crew and execute the work on time & under budget.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and assure that high quality work is always being performed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other foreman and crews.
  • Provide appropriate coaching and mentoring for crew members to help them be the best they can be.

Job Summary

Provide leadership, management, and supervision necessary for the planning, lay-out, and performing all types of Carpentry work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of all craft persons under his/her supervision and provide all resources needed for the work to be done safely, correctly, and efficiently. Work with other foreman or crews to ensure that the work is coordinated and sequenced to assure that the flow of work and the schedule is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

1. Adhere to and support all company policies, procedures and "The Sundt Way" regarding the work and people you supervise.
2. Assure all crew members evaluations/performance agreements are conducted.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Must have a minimum of four years' experience in the relevant construction market and an in-depth understanding of the trades being supervised.
2. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6. Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
8. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis
10. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
