City Construction in Iowa City is seeking a full-time commercial carpenter with 3–5 years of finish carpentry experience. You will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, or repairing temporary partitions, wood blocking, parapets, casework, door and hardware settings, and other carpentry tasks on diverse projects.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, OSHA certification, six months of related experience, strong communication, ability to follow varied instructions, and

• Minimum of six months industry-related experience.
• Ability to perform manual construction work and operate equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• OSHA certification required.
• Uphold and promote all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work on projects outside a 60-mile radius from Iowa City.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install, or repair temporary partitions and rough carpentry tasks.
• Install casework, set frames, doors and hardware.
• Install specialty items as required by projects.
• Perform general carpentry duties as part of project teams.

We are looking for a full-time commercial carpenter with 3-5 years of experience of finish carpentry to join our team. As the carpenter you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, or repairing temporary partitions, rough carpentry tasks such as wood blocking & building parapets, installing casework, the setting of frames, doors and hardware, installation of specialty items, and much more!

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• A minimum of six (6) months industry related experience
• Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• OSHA certification
• Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
• Have the ability to work on projects outside of a 60-mile radius from Iowa City
• Valid driver's license and Satisfactory Driving Record
