Job summary

Lakeside Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a skilled shop technician to construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures using laminate, wood, plywood and wallboard. You will interpret blueprints and prepare layout for fabrication.

Responsibilities include operating CNC Wood Router, setting up edgebander, applying laminate, and assembling panels with nails, glue, or dowels. Basic hand tools knowledge is helpful.

• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.

• Programs and runs CNC Wood Router.
• Sets up and runs edgebander.
• Edgebands laminate designs by hand.
• Lays laminate and veneer on 4x8 and 5x8 sheets.
• Slots and T-mold panels.
• Uses wood working tools (table saw, trim router, pocket screw boring machine).

Summary:

Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of laminate, wood, plywood, and wallboard, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Studies blueprints or sketches, for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
• Assists Engineering as needed to insure designs that can be manufactured efficiently.
• Prepares layout.
• Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Program and run CNC Wood Router.
• Set up and run edgebander
• Edgeband complex laminate designs by hand.
• Lay up laminate and veneer on 4x8 and 5x8 sheets of substrate.
• Slot and T-mold panels.
• General knowledge of wood working tools such as table saw, trim router, pocket screw boring machine etc.
