The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking a Carpenter for the Elbow Rd Project in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials for commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects. This role offers opportunities to work across the United States in our Building, Transportation, and Water Divisions, with leading training and career advancement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must comply with safety policies and procedures and communicate effectively with team.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Builds and installs wooden structures per prefab units for bridges, walls and related structures.
• Assists with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs as needed.

OVERVIEW

Archer Western Construction is currently seeking a Carpenter for the Elbow Rd Project in Virginia Beach, VA. The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridge, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred
• Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
