Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a skilled Carpenter to construct or assemble concrete forming systems per blueprints and specifications for concrete structures. The role emphasizes safety, blueprint interpretation, and efficient assembly of formwork on construction sites.

Ideal candidates have bridge-related experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to read plans. A background in concrete placement and finishing, rebar installation, and rigging is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of bridge work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• 3+ years of assembly/disassembly of heavy form systems.
• Knowledge of concrete pumps, placement/finishing, and rebar installation a plus.
• Rigging knowledge a plus.
• Experience with leveling tools such as laser levels and transits.
• Knowledge of using and maintaining power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Safety policies and procedures.
• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
• Interpret blueprints or building plans for layout and material needs.
• Use and maintain power equipment required for job duties.
• Ensure safety scaffolding and equipment is in place while working.
• Secure and store tools and materials at end of day.

Position Summary:

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing or assembling concrete forming systems, according to blueprints and specifications, for forming concrete structures.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety first, in everything we do.
• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
• Interprets blueprints, sketches, or building plans in preparation of layout to determine dimensions and type of material required.
• Must have proper knowledge on using and maintaining any type of power equipment required to fulfill job description.
• Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures, such as making certain that proper safety scaffolding and other equipment is in place while performing job duties.
• Secure and put away all tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each work day.

Qualifications:

• Prior rigging knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with leveling tools such as laser levels and transits.
• Must have proper knowledge of using and maintaining any type of power equipment required to fulfill job description and possess the appropriate tools of the trade.
