Job summary

SeaWorld in Texas is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our facilities team. You will perform general carpentry for in-park builds, repairs, and installations, providing a safe environment for guests and staff.

The role requires 3+ years onsite carpentry, ability to read blueprints, operate power and hand tools, and work at heights. Expect a flexible schedule, outdoor work, and opportunities to contribute to park upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of onsite carpentry experience.
• Experience with cabinet building and framing, fabrications of solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and more.
• Ability to work with blueprints or in-depth sketches.
• Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools in safe condition.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess basic mathematical skills.
• Work at heights up to 100 feet and on scaffolding up to 24 feet.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather; exposure to fumes, dust, odors, loud noises, and temperature extremes.
• Perform cleaning duties with cleaning chemicals.
• Flexible schedule including opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.

Specifically, you will:

• Perform all functions of general carpentry work for in-park builds, repairs, installations, providing a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Select proper materials for jobs
• Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
• Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of onsite experience in the carpentry trade
• Experience with cabinet building and framing, fabrications of solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and more.
• Ability to work with blueprints or in-depth sketches
• Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools and other equipment in good safe condition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess basic mathematical skills
• Work at heights up to 100 feet, work on scaffolding up to 24 feet, and ability to climb and work off of ladders
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, loud noises/vibrations and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
