Position Summary

St. Johns Shipbuilding is currently looking for a Carpenter to join our shipyard team in Palatka, FL. The Carpenter will be involved in a variety of construction and repair tasks for marine vessels, applying expertise in woodworking to contribute to the structural integrity and aesthetics of our ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures on marine vessels.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wooden components using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other wooden structures and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely completion of projects to high quality standards.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Proven carpentry experience, preferably in a maritime environment.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment used in carpentry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and carpentry techniques.
  • Good manual dexterity and a keen eye for detail.
