Job summary

Johnson Construction Group is seeking a hands-on Carpenter to work on our commercial and residential jobsites in Coweta County. You will report to our Superintendent and work as part of a small crew.

This is hands on field work. Rough framing, finish carpentry, doors and hardware, trim, blocking, decking, siding, concrete forming, demolition, layout, and whatever else the job in front of you needs. We do not have one guy who only does one thing.

Qualifications

• Real carpentry experience.
• Able to read a tape measure, a square, and a set of plans.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Honest, open to corrections.
• Willingness to take direction and work safely around others.
• OSHA 10 is a plus but not required.
• Welding, concrete finishing, or metal stud framing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Frame walls, floors, roofs, and structural components to plan.
• Install doors, windows, trim, cabinets, hardware, and finish materials.
• Read and work from construction drawings and written scopes of work.
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal stud, and composite materials.
• Build and strip concrete forms.
• Set layout and confirm dimensions before you build.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
• Load, unload, and stage material.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe every day.
• Spot problems early and tell the Superintendent before they cost money.
• Help other trades and crew members when the schedule calls for it.

Johnson Construction Group is hiring a Carpenter to work on our commercial and residential jobsites in and around Coweta County. You will report to our Superintendent and work as part of a small crew.

This is hands on field work. Rough framing, finish carpentry, doors and hardware, trim, blocking, decking, siding, concrete forming, demolition, layout, and whatever else the job in front of you needs. We do not have one guy who only does one thing.

If you show up on time, do good work, and tell the truth when something goes wrong, there is room to move up here.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Frame walls, floors, roofs, and structural components to plan
• Install doors, windows, trim, cabinets, hardware, and finish materials
• Read and work from construction drawings and written scopes of work
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal stud, and composite materials
• Build and strip concrete forms
• Set layout and confirm dimensions before you build

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Real carpentry experience. Tell us where you got it and what you built.
• Ability to read a tape measure, a square, and a set of plans
• You own your basic hand tools
• You show up on time every day. That is the one that matters most here.
• Honesty. We would rather hear about a mistake the day it happens than find it at punch out.
• Willingness to take direction and be corrected
• Ability to work safely around other trades and equipment
• OSHA 10 is a plus and is not required
• Welding, concrete finishing, or metal stud framing experience is a plus

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the jobsite
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on your feet all day
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding and work at height
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and weather
• Must live within reasonable driving distance of Coweta County. We do not pay relocation.

PAY

$17.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime paid as worked. Where you land in that range depends on what you can actually do, not what you tell us on the phone.
