Job summary

LEMOINE is seeking a skilled Carpenter I to join our team in the commercial industry, specializing in concrete forming or drywall finishing. As an entry-level Carpenter, you will assist in framing, concrete forming and finishing work, and report to the project foreman while working closely with the team and accepting guidance from supervisors.

This position requires strong attention to detail, safety on job sites, and the willingness to learn across carpentry tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to push/pull, lift up to 55 lbs.
• Able to perform sedentary to heavy work and work on uneven surfaces.
• Able to communicate effectively on site.
• Experience in construction is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Assemble and fasten materials with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives.
• Install structures such as windows, frames, flooring, and trim.
• Construct forms and pour concrete.
• Finish surfaces by sanding, staining, and painting.
• Assist in job-site prep and cleanup.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.

You will report to the project foreman and be expected to work collaboratively with the team and take direction from supervisors. Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans
• Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials
• Assembling and fastening materials using nails, screws, staples, and adhesives

Qualifications

• May operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all types
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
• Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting
• Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
• May be required to work in confined spaces
• Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)

Physical requirements

To perform the essential functions of the job, Carpenters should have manual dexterity and the ability to assemble things. He or she must kneel, squat, stoop, bend and climb; lift up to 75 pounds, and have a good sense of balance and coordination.
