Job summary

Key West Historic Inns Collection is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Engineering team. You will perform a variety of carpentry, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks across our boutique hotel collection, from guest room furnishings to trim, cabinetry, and structural woodwork, preserving historic charm while ensuring safety and functionality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or trade school training in carpentry or a related field is a plus.
• Two or more years of professional carpentry experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or institutional settings preferred.
• Experience with framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, drywall repair, flooring, doors, windows, trim work, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and other carpentry equipment.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and carpentry best practices.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, measurements, and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout boutique hotel collection.
• Repair guest room furnishings and doors; maintain trim, cabinetry, and woodwork.
• Keep hotels safe, functional, and visually appealing while preserving historic character.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, measurements, and work orders.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to complete tasks on schedule.

Overview

Key West Historic Inns is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our Engineering team. As a Carpenter, you will perform a variety of carpentry, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout our boutique hotel collection. From repairing guest room furnishings and doors to maintaining trim, cabinetry, and structural woodwork, you will help ensure our hotels remain safe, functional, and visually appealing while preserving the unique character and charm of our historic properties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or trade school training in carpentry or a related field is a plus.
• Two (2) or more years of professional carpentry experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or institutional settings preferred.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as business needs require.
