Job summary

Superior Construction is seeking skilled craft workers for field-based heavy civil projects including roadway and bridge work. Candidates should be familiar with working at heights and manlifts, and ready to engage in site safety, environmental protection, and rigorous field duties.

The role requires physical labor, tool use, and the ability to follow OSHA regulations on active construction sites in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol.
  • Must be reliable/have reliable transportation.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, or plans.

Responsibilities

  • Use power and/or hand tools to construct and set forms to grade, install overhang brackets, build handrails and remove/clean forms after placement of concrete.
  • Erect metal and wood forms.
  • Assist with concrete pours for structures such as pier footings, columns, caps and bridge decks.
  • Interpret blueprints or plans to construct forms for Cast in Place concrete.
  • Load and unload trucks and deliveries.
  • Secure and store tools, equipment, and materials at end of day.

A skilled craft worker is an essential cog in the wheel of any Superior Construction project.Qualified applicants will have experience working on Heavy Civil, Roadway or Bridge Projects. The employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Physical DemandsThe position lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions.The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
