Job summary

White Oak Conservation in northeast Florida seeks a Wildlife Specialist to join the Animal care team. You will participate in daily animal care, assist with diet preparation, administer prescribed medications, and help monitor health and welfare in designated habitats.

This role supports conservation breeding programs across 600 acres and requires a high school diploma with at least one year of related animal experience. You will work with a variety of species in large, naturalistic habitats.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year related animal (zoo, farm, veterinary, husbandry) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily care of animals in designated areas.
• Prepares diet for animals.
• Administers prescribed medications and supplements.
• Monitors and reports health, behavior, and well-being of animals.
• Maintains accurate daily records and reports.
• Assists with conservation management and area research projects.
• Participates in training and mentoring of new staff.
