The Department of Veterans Affairs—Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD, invites applications for a Dining Assistant. This role supports veterans with meals, ensuring safety, dignity, and a pleasant dining experience.

Training includes 8 hours of online content and 2 hours of clinical precepted instruction by a Registered Nurse. Applicants must be 16+ and able to obtain serve-safe and dining assist certifications.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to obtain serve-safe certification and successfully complete dining assistant certification.
• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with eating and drinking during mealtimes.
• Document meal intake in the electronic medical record.
• Provide a pleasant dining experience and interact with residents and the interdisciplinary team.
