Job summary

Pearl Healthcare is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dietary department by performing routine food service and sanitation tasks. You will assist the cook with meal preparation, help serve residents, and ensure timely meal delivery while adhering to safety and infection control policies.

The role requires a High School diploma (preferred) and the ability to read diet orders and follow recipes. Flexibility for emergency coverage and cooperative teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipe directions, diet orders and tray cards.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe prep and measuring cleaning agents; good motor coordination.
• Flexible hours including emergencies; patient with staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment.
• Assist the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Dept. Policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform scheduled cleaning duties.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up dining room and serve residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report damaged fixtures or unsafe equipment and conditions.
• Assist with receiving and storing food supplies.
• Understand and follow fire/disaster plans and infection control policies.
• Ensure residents are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
