Job summary

Avflight Corporation in Detroit is seeking a Warehouse Cargo Handler to organize the facility, load and unload air cargo, and ensure accurate, safe receipt and storage of inbound and outbound shipments.

You will operate basic cargo handling equipment, perform daily safety checks, keep a neat warehouse and office area, and coordinate with consignors, brokers, agents, and truckers to avoid damage or tampering.

Responsibilities

• Receives cargo and releases cargo to consignors, consignees, brokers, agents, truckers, etc., including checking for damage/tampering, counting, receipting, and loading/unloading cargo.
• Issue appropriate warehouse receipt or collect signed delivery receipt.
• Performs daily equipment preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks.
• Maintains a neat and orderly office and warehouse area, including removal of snow and ice from walkways and docks.
• Maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed.
