Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a Cargo Handler for our Romulus, MI warehouse. You will load and unload freight, operate scanners, and ensure accurate staging of next-day routes. This role requires safe lifting and working with equipment on a tight early-morning schedule.

Part-time shift from 3:30 AM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, paid at $20.00 per hour, with benefits including holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401K, and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trucks and trailers
• Safely load and unload with appropriate equipment
• Use handheld scanners to track freight across network
• Accurately stage and audit next-day routes
• Label boxes and prepare freight for shipment
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to meet quality standards
• Check-in and unload freight
• Recoup/restore damaged freight as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

The Cargo Handler is responsible for loading and unloading freight on trailers in a safe and timely manner. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight is required. Must accurately stage and audit next day routes, perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 3:30 AM - 7:30 AM

Pay: $20.00/hr

Primary Duties:

• Responsible for loading and unloading freight on trucks and trailers
• Safely load and unload trailers and trucks by utilizing appropriate approved equipment
• Use handheld scanners to efficiently track freight throughout our network
• Accurately stage and audit next day routes
• Correctly label boxes and prepare freight for shipment as required
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to assure quality standards are met
• Accurately check-in and unload freight
• Recoup/restore damaged freight when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Ensure warehouse duties are being done as directed (cardboard, styrofoam, demanufacture etc)
• Ability to work well without direct supervision, maintain a positive, professional demeanor
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
