Job summary

Right at Home Long Beach is hiring Caregivers and Home Health Aides to provide in-home care. Immediate part-time and full-time roles available with competitive pay and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Registered as a California Home Care Aide.
• Current TB test on file.
• State and Federal LiveScan (Fingerprinting) completed.
• CPR certification is recommended.
• Meets responsibilities for direct patient care.
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and transitional support.
• Perform light housekeeping like vacuuming, dishes, laundry.
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions.
• Accompany client to errands or medical appointments.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Provide medication reminders and basic ROM support.
• Offer dementia care and engaging companionship.

Responsibilities and Duties:

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home

  • Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom

  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions

  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments

  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving

  • Medication reminders

  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises

  • Dementia care

  • Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc

Must Haves:

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate

• Registered as a California Home Care Aide

• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
