Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in Sewell, NJ, seeks a Caregiver (PRN) to provide hands-on care, emotional support, and a safe, home-like environment for residents. You will assist with daily activities, monitor wellbeing, and uphold dignity and independence.

Ideal candidates have CNA preferred or a high school diploma, 18+ eligibility, and strong communication with residents and staff. Flexible shifts and growth opportunities accompany a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Care for designated residents during shift and monitor wellbeing.
• Provide daily personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transfers, eating.
• Respond to alarm bells promptly.
• Promote independence while ensuring safety and dignity.
• Keep resident rooms and work areas clean and organized.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Engage residents in life skills activities and enrichment programs.
• Notify supervisor if care needs increase.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Role

As the Caregiver, your role includes providing hands-on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for designated group of residents during shift; ensures awareness of whereabouts and conducts frequent checks
• Provide daily personal care support, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance
• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly
• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and overall well-being
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas
• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents
• Engage residents in meaningful life skills activities and enrichment programs
• Notify supervisor and/or health care coordinator if a resident has increased care needs
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aid (CNA) certification preferred
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Prior experience working with seniors preferred
• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with superior customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
