Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Caregiver (PRN) at Heartlands Senior Living in Ellicott City to enrich residents' lives and build meaningful connections.

As a Caregiver, you will provide hands-on care and emotional support, assist with daily activities, and help maintain a safe, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and support to residents.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance.
• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly.
• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas.
• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents.
• Engage residents in meaningful life skills activities and enrichment programs.
• Notify supervisor or health care coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.

Your Role

As the Caregiver, your role includes providing hands-on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for designated group of residents during shift; ensures awareness of whereabouts and conducts frequent checks
• Provide daily personal care support, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance

• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and overall well-being
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas

• Notify supervisor and/or health care coordinator if a resident has increased care needs
• Other duties as assigned
