Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking an in-home personal care aide in California to support clients with daily living activities and mobility, under a care plan. You will assist with health tasks, hygiene, and essential services, coordinating with families, schools, and local health resources.

The role requires state licensure as needed, BLS certification, and ability to communicate effectively in English. 18+ and computer proficiency are expected, with potential school commute responsibilities.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• One year relevant experience preferred.
• Current BLS Card.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between home, school, local health agency, and other community resources.
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities.
• Demonstrates competence in performing the necessary skills and perform those skills on the plan of care.
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health.
• Assists with transfers and ambulation.
• Aids teacher in helping student learn and provides feedback to student and supervisors/teachers (if applicable).
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan (if applicable).
• In school setting, accompanies student on bus to and from school (if applicable).
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client.
• May assist in supervision of students during recess and lunch periods and accompany student on community experiences.
• Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements.
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.
• Implements behavior management techniques as directed by supervisor/healthcare practitioner; reinforce positive behaviors, manage time out, or other techniques as directed.
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
