Job summary

At Peace Healthcare Agency is hiring compassionate Caregivers / Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our growing team in the Scranton area. You will provide one-on-one, non-medical personal care, companionship, and daily living support while helping clients maintain dignity and independence in their own homes.

The ideal candidate is caring, reliable, and dependable, with at least 1 year of personal care experience preferred and must pass background checks.

Qualifications

• We are looking for caring, dependable, and responsible individuals who take pride in providing quality care.
• Proof of current TB testing required.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• If transporting clients, must have a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be mature, caring, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to work independently while following the client's care plan.
• Must successfully pass required criminal background and fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• As a Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate and dependable support based on each client's individual needs and care plan.
• As part of daily living, assist with bathing and grooming, toileting and incontinence care, dressing and personal hygiene, and ADLs.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding, perform light housekeeping, and assist with laundry.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, encourage independence and social engagement.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and safe movement throughout the home.
• Provide medication reminders according to the care plan and applicable requirements.
• Assist with transportation to medical appointments and errands when applicable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate and dependable support based on each client's individual needs and care plan.

Personal Care

• Assist with bathing and grooming
• Provide toileting and incontinence care
• Assist with dressing and personal hygiene
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Help clients maintain their dignity and independence

Home and Daily Living Support

• Prepare meals and assist with feeding, when applicable
• Perform light housekeeping
• Assist with laundry
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Assist clients with daily routines

Companionship and Support

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Encourage independence and social engagement
• Assist clients with appropriate daily activities
• Develop a respectful and supportive relationship with clients

Mobility Assistance

• Assist with ambulation
• Assist with transfers, as permitted by the client's care plan
• Support safe movement throughout the home

Medication Reminders

• Provide medication reminders according to the client's care plan and applicable requirements

Transportation and Community Support

• Assist with transportation to medical appointments, when applicable
• Assist with errands and community activities, when applicable

QUALIFICATIONS
