Job summary

Arden Courts of Wayne is seeking a caregiver to assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meals, housekeeping and social activities. You will work as part of the Health & Wellness Team to ensure high-quality resident care.

Required is a high school diploma; preferred experience with elderly and dementia care; certification per state regulations; ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a basic level; clear English communication.
• Experience with elderly care and dementia preferred; state certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support meals, hygiene, housekeeping, laundry and social activities.

As a Caregiver you assist residents in all aspects of their daily life. This includes personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation and information needs. Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
Years of Experience: Knowledge and experience in working with elderly & previous dementia experience preferred
Certification: Certification required according to state regulations

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods; Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis; Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning); Ability to read thermometers, charts and testing equipment and ability to operate clothes washers and dryers and kitchen appliances
