Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support clients with personal, mobility, and therapeutic care needs in the San Fernando Valley area. The role offers hourly pay and weekly paychecks, with extensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, health care tasks, transfers, and companionship while coordinating with families and local health resources.

Qualifications

• Requires state licensure or certification as required by state or program.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification and PPD or Chest X-Ray may be required.
• Knowledge of child growth and development is desirable.
• Ability to coordinate between home, school, and local health resources; strong English communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to individuals needing help with day-to-day activities.
• Performs health care tasks, personal hygiene, and related support per care plan.
• Assists with transfers and ambulation.
• Executes incidental household tasks integral to a personal care plan.
• Provides companionship and engages in activities to promote independence.
• Supports self-care development in toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Reports changes in client status as directed by the care plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements:

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school,local health agency, and other community resources
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to,supervisors, co-workers, clients) viastrong communicationskills; proficiency inthe English language may berequired
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
