Job summary

Nurse Next Door is hiring Caregivers to provide in-home care in Napa Valley. We offer competitive wages, paid virtual training, 1.5x overtime/holiday pay, mileage reimbursement, and growth opportunities. This part-time or full-time role supports seniors at home with compassionate, personalized care.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene, mobility assistance, meal support, light housekeeping, and documenting care. Valid CA driver’s license helpful for transportation needs.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1 year caregiving experience (preferred).
• Background check completed.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing (TB) and negative status.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene and dressing.
• Help clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning, and ambulation support.
• Assist with prescribed exercises as needed.
• Plan meals and assist with eating.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Provide companionship and help with light household tasks.
• Assist with medications that are ordinarily self-administered.
• Report changes to the administrator and document care.
• Complete service records for provided care.
• Participate in required training and maintain home care aide registration.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing;
• Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation;
• Assisting with exercises as appropriate to meet the client’s needs;
• Meal planning and preparation, and assisting clients with eating;
• Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care;
• Companionship and assisting in household services including light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries;
• Assisting clients with medications which are ordinarily self-administered;
• Reporting changes in the client’s condition and needs to the administrator; and
• Completing records regarding services performed.
• Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements.
• Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1 Year Caregiving Experience (preferred)
• Completion of a criminal background check
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing and verification that the caregiver does not have active tuberculosis.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation.
• HCA (Preferred)

Pay

• $20 per hour
