Job summary

Safe and Sound Home Care is seeking Private Duty Caregivers to support older adults and disabled adults in their own homes across North Mississippi. You will provide compassionate care, daily living support, and assistance with errands and transportation to appointments.

The role emphasizes dependable, patient caregiving with a focus on safety, dignity, and emotional well-being. Training is provided, and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Background screening and drug testing are required.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Weekend availability is preferred for some shifts.
• At least 1 year of caregiving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide redirection, stability, and oversight to reduce confusion and anxiety.
• Assist with dressing, grooming, hygiene, and meals with kindness and patience.
• Help with housekeeping tasks like laundry and light cleaning to keep spaces neat.
• Drive clients to appointments and run errands with them.
• Engage clients in activities that support emotional well-being and connection.
• Provide specialized care for conditions such as Alzheimer’s/dementia, stroke recovery, Parkinson’s, diabetes, and end-of-life support.

As a Private Duty Caregiver, you will support older adults and adults with disabilities in their homes by providing:

• Redirection, stability, and oversight to reduce confusion and anxiety

• Help individuals start and end their day with confidence by assisting with dressing, grooming, hygiene, and meals, while offering kindness, patience, and meaningful support

• Support a calm and welcoming home by helping with routine needs like laundry, light cleaning, and keeping the space neat and comfortable

• Help clients stay active and engaged by driving them to appointments, completing errands together, and assisting with grocery shopping

• Foster emotional well-being by spending quality time with clients through conversation, music, crafts, and other activities that bring joy and connection

• Give specialized, compassionate care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, stroke recovery, Parkinson’s, diabetes, and those receiving end-of-life support

• Are available to work some weekends
