Job summary

Vitality seeks compassionate team members to assist residents with daily activities and treatments per care plans. You will support emotional health, perform duties such as laundry and pet care, and observe resident conditions. Training and onboarding will be provided, with adherence to all policies and procedures.

Must be at least 18, able to communicate in English, and meet health requirements. This role involves teamwork and requires attention to safety and resident dignity.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
  • Maintain any certification as required by state or provincial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities as indicated in service plans.
  • Assist residents with simple treatments as indicated in service plans.
  • Assist residents with emotional health and/or behavioral issues as indicated in service plans.
  • Perform other services for residents as indicated in service plans (e.g., laundry and pet care).
  • Observe and report resident problems to supervisor or appropriate staff.
  • Attend onboarding, annual and in-service training and team meetings.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Wellness Director.

Note: any team member with potential risks related to pet care (e.g., allergies and pregnancy) should exercise caution in this regard and contact his or her supervisor concerning any related issues.Assist in development and revision of service plans by informing supervisor of current resident needs and preferences, as well as successful service approaches.Observe and report resident problems (as listed in Observation and Reporting sections of Personal Care Specialist Resource, or in-service plans) and report such problems to LPN (if on duty) or Medication Tech/Aid.Attend and participate in onboarding, annual and in-service training and team member meetings, as requested.Adhere to all policies and procedures of the company.Perform other duties as assigned by Wellness Director.SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 18 years old.Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Meet state or provincial health related requirements.Maintain any certification as required by state or provincial regulations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Vision Acuity, Talking, and Hearing.The weight determined to be appropriate for a Personal Care Specialist to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 50 lbs.EXPOSURE RISK CLASSIFICATION:May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
