Sedgebrook, based in Lincolnshire, IL, is seeking caring professionals to provide one-on-one support to residents in their apartment homes. You’ll build genuine relationships, help residents stay independent, and contribute to daily moments of meaning.

The role offers guaranteed hours, full-time scheduling, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional caregiving experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Comfortable using a smartphone for timekeeping and care documentation.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility).
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Encourage activity, independence, and engagement.
• Accompany residents to appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping and meal prep; occasional pet care.
• Document services using a mobile app.
• Report changes in resident condition to supervisors.
• Participate in required training and meetings.

Scheduling & Availability

Full-Time

• Guaranteed minimum of 37.5 hours per week
• Must provide at least 50 hours of weekly availability
• Flexible scheduling
• Weekend availability required

Weekend Availability Requirement

To help ensure consistent support for our residents, caregivers must be available for either:

• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) with at least 8 hours of availability each day, or
• One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) each week with at least 8 hours of availability

Preferred Shift Options

12-Hour Shifts

• 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Short Shifts

• 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
• 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support

• Encourage residents to remain active, engaged, and independent
• Accompany residents to appointments, errands, and community activities
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation and occasional pet care
• Document services provided using a mobile app
• Communicate changes in resident condition to supervisors
• Participate in required training and team meetings

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional caregiving experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Comfortable using a smartphone for timekeeping and care documentation
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting seniors or individuals living with dementia
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain after hire)
• Background in hospitality, healthcare, or home care
