• Must be 18 years or older and meet in-service training requirements.
• Desire to work with seniors while upholding privacy, dignity and independence.
• Able to organize time to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Able to work well with others and function as part of a team.
• Well groomed and follow dress requirements; cheerful and willing to learn.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally more; long periods of walking/standing.
• Must read, write, and understand English; general understanding of seniors' needs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal services to residents as assigned and per service plans.
• Assist residents with medications and/or treatments as indicated and allowed.
• Respond to calls from the emergency system promptly.
• Follow infection control procedures to maintain safety and hygiene.
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment via housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Assist with individual and group social/recreational activities and encourage participation.
• Monitor changes in resident needs, preferences or health and report per procedures.
• Report any abuse or suspected abuse to the supervisor or appropriate agencies.

The Caregiver is responsible for providing resident services, including assistance with personal care, medication reminders, social and recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks as needed to facilitate the continued well-being of the resident.
