RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Bladen County, NC. You will support individuals with disabilities in the community and at home, helping them achieve personal goals with compassion and respect.

This entry-level role offers varied shifts, opportunities to learn and grow, and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. The position pays $15.00 per hour and requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.

• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating).
• Document the care you provide.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.

Provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in the community as part of our waiver services. Assists the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports. Implements services and supports to address the person’s goals and desired outcomes as identified through each person’s Centered Plan. Seek to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Relies on direction and supervision to accomplish the job.

Schedule:

Shifts and schedules may vary by location and typically a variety of shifts are available. Shifts cover all days of the week, Monday through Sunday.

• Assist in medication administration where state law allows.
• Protect confidentiality.

Pre-employment screening:

• Complete criminal background
• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
